On-Demand Online and Cable Coverage for WHL Season Announced | Mediacaster Magazine - Broadband & Content

The Western Hockey League (WHL) has announced expanded TV and on-demand coverage of its upcoming hockey season.

The leaque has renewed a multi-year agreement with online content provider NeuLion to deliver live and on-demand video of WHL hockey games to Internet enabled devices worldwide.

The new WHL LIVE online service will carry coverage of all 22 teams in the WHL and will deliver nearly 800 games throughout the regular season, beginning September 22, 2011.

The WHL and Shaw Communications have also announced that 32 games will be broadcast on the full cable network in Western Canada during regular season. The WHL on SHAW will also provide extensive coverage of the 2012 WHL Playoffs, broadcasting a full series in each of the four rounds including the WHL Championship Series, as team's battle for the Ed Chynoweth Cup.
