Shaw reports it will work with telecom provider Cisco to provide Wi-Fi broadband access across an extensive wireless network planned in Western Canada.
Shaw says access points will be provided in various markets and venues, including highly secure coverage in targeted areas like sporting facilities and transit systems. Location based advertising will be incorporated into the service.
The network will support connectivity to Wi-Fi enabled, rich media devices like tablets, mobile smart phones and desktop computers. The service will be offered to Shaw Internet customers.
