BBM Music, a new cloud-based service from Research In Motion (RIM), is now being introduced in a closed beta trial.
The service is designed to let users build their own community-based music library that can be shared with friends on the service.
Users can select tunes from a catalogue of songs from leading music companies - Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI.
RIM has offered other music related services in the past, working with the likes of Amazon and U2. Today's announcement confirms recent speculation that Blackberry would launch its own music store for the BlackBerry.
